GEORGIA BRANCH, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ WINS 2007 CHAPTER OF YEAR AWARD

Washington, D.C. — 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of America (91¶ÌÊÓÆµ) awarded Georgia Branch, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ the 2007 Chapter of the Year Award for its emphasis on member communication, improved member retention and growth and leadership on legislative issues. The Georgia Branch, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ is one of 96 nationwide 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Chapters.

"91¶ÌÊÓÆµ's Chapters are the parts that make up the whole of our organization," said Stephen E. Sandherr, chief executive officer of 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. "For that reason, we recognize their contributions each year with this award."

In 2007, Georgia Branch, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ recruited 86 new member companies and counted the highest level of member participation in its history. The organization also launched work force alliance task forces around the state in order to address work force development, which was identified as the most important issue facing Georgia Branch, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ members.

"We decided to get back to the basics and focus on our customer," said Michael T. Dunham, executive vice president of Georgia Branch, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. "Everything we do is geared toward enhancing the members' experience."

Communication with members is the top priority for Georgia Branch, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, which issues a weekly e-newsletter to inform members of legislative issues, and maintains an active voice in legislative activities. In addition, Chapter staff make regular visits to members in order to understand their needs and concerns.

91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of America (91¶ÌÊÓÆµ) is the largest and oldest national construction trade association in the United States. 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ represents 33,000 firms, including 7,500 of America's leading general contractors and 12,500 specialty–contracting firms.
